PSC rules reviewed June 2026. This estimates objective-paper marks only; it is not an official result, rank, cutoff prediction or recommendation status.

How to calculate your Loksewa score

Select the relevant exam preset and enter your correct and wrong answers. Unattempted questions are calculated from the total. The result separates positive marks from the negative deduction and compares the net estimate with the syllabus pass mark.

After an official or trusted answer key is available, use Answer Key Checker. Paste the key and your own sequence in matching order. Use A–E or 1–5, and mark unanswered questions with −, X or 0.

Loksewa negative-marking formula

Net score = (correct answers × marks per question) − (wrong answers × marks per question × negative-marking percentage)

Example: in a 2-mark paper with 20% negative marking, 35 correct and 10 wrong answers produce 70 positive marks and a 4-mark deduction: 66 net marks. Five unanswered questions neither add nor deduct marks.

What the current official syllabi say

The reviewed PSC syllabi state that a wrong answer to an objective multiple-choice question deducts 20% of the marks assigned to that question. An unanswered question receives no mark and no deduction. They also state that calculators are not allowed in the objective MCQ examination. This online calculator is therefore intended for preparation and post-exam answer checking, not use inside the examination.

The current Section Officer preliminary scheme has 100 one-mark questions and a 45 pass mark. The reviewed Nayab Subba first-phase scheme has 50 two-mark questions and a 40 pass mark. The Kharidar preliminary scheme effective from FY 2081/82 has 50 two-mark questions and a 45 pass mark.

Estimated score versus official प्राप्ताङ्क

Tools Pasal does not access PSC candidate records. Your result here depends entirely on the answer key and counts you enter, and it cannot predict rank, category cutoff, shortlist or recommendation.

PSC provides its own official प्राप्ताङ्क / View Marks page. PSC says candidates who were selected for and attended the interview can view total obtained marks seven days after the recommendation date using Master ID, advertisement number, roll number and date of birth. The published marks are removed from the website after a limited seven-day period.

Sources and review date

Source rules last reviewed June 2026. PSC and provincial commissions can revise syllabi, examination stages and pass marks, so the advertisement-specific syllabus remains authoritative.

Frequently asked questions

How is negative marking calculated in Loksewa MCQ exams?

In the current PSC syllabi reviewed for Section Officer, Nayab Subba and Kharidar, each wrong answer deducts 20% of that question's marks. A blank answer earns zero and has no deduction.

How much is deducted for one wrong answer?

If a question carries 1 mark, the deduction is 0.20. If it carries 2 marks, the deduction is 0.40. The editable calculator applies the percentage to the marks per question.

Is the pass mark the same for every Loksewa examination?

No. The verified current preliminary pass mark is 45 for Section Officer, 40 for Nayab Subba first phase and 45 for Kharidar. Technical services, provincial commissions, papers and revised syllabi can differ.

Are preliminary marks added to the final total?

The verified Section Officer and Kharidar schemes describe the preliminary examination as a screening test and do not add those marks to the main examination total. Always read the specific syllabus for your post.

Can this page show my official PSC obtained marks?

No. This is an estimate from your answer counts or answer key. Eligible interviewed candidates can use PSC's official प्राप्ताङ्क page with their Master ID, advertisement number, roll number and date of birth.
