Payslips and contributions in Nepal

A Nepali payslip separates earnings (basic salary plus allowances such as dearness or transport) from deductions. The main deduction is a retirement contribution: under the Social Security Fund the employee contributes 11% of basic (with the employer adding 20%), while the older Employees Provident Fund uses 10% from each side. Many employers also offer CIT as a voluntary saving, and income tax is withheld monthly as TDS. These retirement and insurance contributions also reduce taxable income, which is why they appear clearly on the slip.

Frequently asked questions

What deductions appear on a Nepali salary slip?

Typically a retirement contribution — SSF (11% of basic for the employee) or EPF (10% of basic) — plus optional CIT, income tax withheld as TDS, and any other deductions such as a salary advance or loan.

How is net pay calculated?

Net pay = gross earnings (basic + allowances) minus total deductions (SSF/EPF, CIT, tax and others). This tool also shows the net pay in words.

Does it save my company details?

Yes — click 'Save company details' and your company name and address are stored in your browser (this device) so you don't retype them for each payslip.

Can I download the payslip as a PDF?

Yes. Click 'Print / Save as PDF' and choose 'Save as PDF' in the print dialog — only the payslip is printed on A4.
